Seeing Barcelona – A Quick Travel Guide

Barcelona is a very big Spanish city very much worth visiting for anyone touring Europe. It is frequented for its wondrous sights, vibrant nightlife, and abundant accommodation and dining options. In the 1990s, travel guides started to enthusiastically recommend Barcelona s a must-see destination. The city in the district of Catalonia has a wealthy collection of old buildings built according to unique historic architecture.

Travel guides recommend tourists to schedule their visits around August each year as it is the time when the city is busiest. By the middle of the month until September, numerous shops close down while their owners take holidays. Barcelona accommodations cost lower in August because locals go on vacation at this time of the year as well.

Accommodations
Barcelona has a wide range of places where visitors could stay – from the cheap but comfortable hostels to the most expensive five-star hotels. Apartments offering rent packages for short-term vacations could easily be found as well as self-catered guest houses and apartments. Shared flats are common places of stay for visiting students.

Dining
Various dining options await tourists exploring the huge city. Some popular dining places include Barceloneta, Gracia, Poble Sec, the Ciutat Vella, and the Eixample. For those on a budget, the Avinguda de Parallel has small bars lined up.

Another wise eating option is to purchase ready-to-eat dishes from local supermarkets or public markets. Western cuisine are easily available in local restaurants but guests should not pass up the chance to taste unique Catalan cuisine.
